Once upon a time, there was a boy — a beautiful boy, one of a kind. His blue eyes were filled with curiosity and dusted with a hint of sadness. When he shook his head, tiny sparkles flew from his blonde locks. His presence was unmistakable, his personality unforgettable. And yet, nobody saw him.
He had a kind heart — a heart that felt too much and broke too easily, yet somehow remained soft in a hard world. He moved through life leaving an imprint on the soul of everyone who crossed his path. And yet, nobody knew him.
He understood things no one else could even imagine. He could hear all the colours of the rainbow. He could make music out of raindrops and count the number of breaths in a gust of wind. And he knew how to fly. Every night he soared through the sky, leaving the sleeping world far below. And one day, he simply flew away.
If you’re lucky, you might catch a glimpse of his smile shimmering through the branches on a sunny day. You might feel him in the flutter of a moth’s wings. You might hear him in the whispers of November rain. And sometimes, he’ll drop a feather at your feet.
The boy who was never here is here more than any of us.
